The National Prayer Breakfast is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C. on the first Thursday in February, hosted by members of the United States Congress.

The breakfast brings 3,500 guests to the Nation’s Capital including international political and religious leaders from over 100 countries who assemble to pray and reflect on faith.

Since its inception, the prayer has been led by the President of the United States, followed by a special guest, nominated by the President and kept confidential until that morning.
