Entertainment and Sports Arena (ESA)

Events DC and Monumental Sports celebrated the grand opening of Washington DC’s newest sports venue, the Entertainment and Sports Arena (ESA).

Part of a $65MM redevelopment project, the 4,200-seat venue is now home to the WNBA’s Washington Mystics as well as the training facility for the NBA’s Washington Wizards. The arena also hosts boxing, esports and musical acts, including Mary J. Blige and the National Symphony Orchestra.

The ESA made its public debut in 2018, kicking off with a red carpet and ribbon-cutting ceremony, performances by the Go-Go Pros Rare Essence, and attendance from local dignitaries including Washington D.C.’s Mayor, Muriel Bowser and Monumental Sports CEO and Founder, Ted Leonsis.

Over $1MM in special events have been produced at the venue, including:

  • The 2019 WNBA Playoffs

  • DC Fight Night

  • The NBA Washington Wizards, Press & Media Day
